Can Peripheral Nerves Heal?

Yes! It is well established in the scientific literature that peripheral nerves can and do heal. The key issue is that not only do we need to get the nerves healing but we have to stop whatever is causing the nerve damage in the first place. When the underlying cause of the neuropathy is discovered and proper support for the nerves are provided it optimizes the ability for the nerves to heal!

When the underlying cause of the neuropathy is discovered and proper support for the nerves are provided it optimizes the ability for the nerves to heal!

Main Goals Of Our Neuropathy Treatment

1. Optimize the environment within the body for nerve healing.

2. Increase blood flow to the nerves.

3. Stimulate the damaged nerves (small fiber, large diameter, or motor nerves) to reduce pain and improve balance.

4. Decrease brain-based pain.

Our exclusive treatment system enhances blood flow to the nerves in the feet and/or hands, promoting natural nerve regeneration and restoring normal function for many of our patients. No surgery or addictive medications are required.

TOP 5 Causes of Neuropathy

  • Diabetes: Diabetes remains the leading cause of neuropathy worldwide. High blood sugar levels can damage the nerves over time, leading to neuropathy symptoms such as numbness, tingling, and pain in the hands and feet. At Restore Muscle and Joint we have great success reversing this horrible disease.
  • Autoimmune Diseases: Conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and Sjögren's syndrome can trigger autoimmune reactions that attack the body's own tissues, including the nerves. This immune system dysfunction can cause nerve damage and lead to neuropathy symptoms.
  • Chemotherapy: Certain medications, including chemotherapy drugs used to treat cancer, can cause peripheral neuropathy as a side effect. Chemotherapy-induced neuropathy often presents as tingling, numbness, and pain in the hands and feet.
  • Alcohol Abuse: Chronic and excessive alcohol consumption can lead to nerve damage, resulting in alcoholic neuropathy. The exact mechanisms behind alcohol-induced neuropathy are not entirely clear, but it is believed to be a combination of alcohol's toxic effects and nutritional deficiencies.
  • Infections: Various viral and bacterial infections can cause neuropathy, including shingles (herpes zoster), Lyme disease, HIV/AIDS, and hepatitis C. These infections can directly damage the nerves or trigger an inflammatory response that leads to nerve damage.
